On April 10, the Dell Scholars Program announced the scholarship recipients for the class of 2015. The Dell Scholars Program is a scholarship initiative included in the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. The program awards students who face social, economic or academic challenges but still manage a strong work ethic and have the determination to succeed. Poly AVID student Angel Villa was awarded one of the scholarship offers and will be attending La Sierra University in Riverside this autumn. As one of the 300 recipients, Villa will receive a $20,000 scholarship for her higher education, spread out over six years or less. Meanwhile, the Poly AVID program continues to mold college-ready students, and Villa is a prime example of the program’s value.
