The last time any of the seniors of the girls soccer team will be together on the field they love.
Senior Night didn’t feel like a normal game. The field was the same, the lights were the same, and everything looked like it always did, but it felt different. It felt heavier. Everyone knew this was one of the last times the seniors would step on the field together.
The stands were full of families holding posters, flowers, and balloons. Parents were smiling, but you could tell they were emotional too. They had been there through everything, early practices, late games, wins, losses, and all the rides home. This night wasn’t just important for the players, but for them too.

For the seniors, soccer wasn’t just something they did after school. It had been part of their lives for years. They remembered being freshmen, as many of them had mentioned in their senior descriptions. But what they all had in common, was the fact that they had all gone through their seasons together. They made mistakes, but they learned from them. Over time, they became stronger players and more confident people. They went from being the youngest on the team to being the leaders everyone looked up to.
Soccer gave them more than just skills. It gave them friendships. Their teammates became like family. They spent so much time together at practices, games, and bus rides that it was hard to imagine life without it. They laughed together, supported each other, and pushed each other to be better. They were there for each other, not just as teammates, but as friends. Senior Jaylene White mentioned that senior night was so emotional, not only because her family was there for her, but because her teammates watched her “walk by with sad faces”, seemingly not wanting to let go of that season or the friendships made.

Senior Night made everything feel real. Every pass, every run, and every moment on the field mattered more. They knew their time was limited. Soon, the season would end, and things would change. Some would go on to play soccer in college, and others wouldn’t play competitively again. But none of them would ever forget what it felt like to be part of this team.
When the seniors were called out one by one, it was emotional. Hearing their names announced and walking with their parents reminded them of how far they had come. Their teammates cheered for them, knowing how much each senior had given to the team. It was a moment none of them would forget. Spectator and underclassman Zoe Soriano (sophomore) said that watching her teammates from the past two years leave soccer without her “was more emotional than playing our last game together.”

Even though Senior Night marked the end of this chapter, it didn’t erase the memories. The laughs, the lessons, and the friendships would stay with them forever. This wasn’t just the end of a season. It was the end of an important part of their lives. But no matter where they go next, they will always be connected by the time they spent on that field, playing the game they love, together.
