SCHOOL: New members are joining Poly High School’s staff, while some are leaving.

The school year of 2012 is now introducing 11 new members to Poly High School from Gage Middle School, Chemawa Middle School, Sierra Middle School, Arlington High School and Ramona High School. With this, Poly High School will lose teachers such as Michael Breyer and Roslyn Jones, along with some office members.

For a new beginning, Jones has retired, although she will substitute in the mathematics department at Poly when needed. She has kept in contact with Poly to let everyone know that she is enjoying her retirement.

Breyer has been a Poly ASB teacher for years and is moving on to  Stem Academy Elementary School. There he will be directing the activities and athletics program for fifth through eighth grade students. As a matter of fact, he will be the first to make an activities program at the Stem Academy and will help construct secondary physical education classes. He will be missed at Poly High School, but will visit every now and then.

The list of teachers and staff members that are entering Poly is: Lou Mason (Dean of Students), Joanne King (office assistant), Eduardo Diaz (bilingual community assistant), Carina Alejo (history teacher), Nathan Rivera (history teacher), Tamara Laomb (English/Language Arts), Cris MarkerMorse (theater teacher), Roger Portillo (mathematics teacher), Martin Corso (coronary teacher), Cheston Booth (history and AP Government teacher) and Stacie Ontko (RPD SRO Officer).

All the incoming members to Poly High School have a wide variety of knowledge to offer to us Poly students. Principal Wade Coe recommended all the students to “get to know the new staff members and teachers” because they might learn something new.

These teachers and staff members are coming from experience and have a lot to offer the students at Poly High School.
