The Official Student Paper of Riverside Poly High School

The Editors

Politics has historically influenced disputes amongst individuals and groups. Even politicians can be found guilty of this, through campaign ads that seem more hostile towards opponents than those of past elections. However, this dynamic between politicians will probably not cause much tension at Poly; at least nothing significant.

Despite all the predicted effects of the new laws and regulations on education at the high school level, we believe that these changes will most prominently affect college education. Though Proposition 30 is estimated to bring in about six billion dollars to public education, we believe that this will most primarily benefit public universities. If any money is left over for public high schools, such as Poly, we don’t believe it will be enough to make much of a difference. In other words, we do not foresee anything major occurring at Poly as a result of the November 6 elections.
