WATER POLO: The Poly Boys Water Polo Team’s hard work has paid off as their season has been going exceptionally well.

According to Coach Bill Grisham, the boys have won ten out of twelve games this season so far. He is very happy with how they have been playing and with how hard they have been working, as he mentions “the team is doing very well and living up to [his] expectations.”  Not only does he appreciate their hard work and dedication, but he loves spending time with the team at practices, games and team lunches. He hopes to become league champions yet again and make it past the first round of CIF.

This team has very strong chemistry according to the team captains Peter Krieger(12) and Milo Ribaudo(12) as well as their teammates. In Miguel Buan’s words, “this team has immaculate chemistry, all of the different personalities and playing styles work well together”.   Krieger shared that his favorite part of being on this team is “the relationships he has built with his teammates.”.  The team’s bond is apparent as they compete.  Rafael Martinez’s favorite part of being on this team is that “all of [his] best friends are on the team and[he gets to spend at least two hours with them everyday.”  Zach McDonald “loves spending time in the pool with his friends and [he] play[s] every position besides goalie.” The great camaraderie on this team is key to their successful season. Every player has their unique style and special skill set, and they blend together beautifully in the pool.

These boys have big goals for this season; Ribaudo hopes to “win league and [to] go far in CIF.”  He has been playing water polo for eight years and loves the sport and being able to spend time with his friends everyday. Krieger, who has been playing water polo for three years, has a goal: “to win CIF.” Martinez, who has been playing for about two years and loves water polo more than anything, has scored forty-five goals over twelve games as the team’s center player. He believes that the team has a “good chance at doing well in CIF this year with a lot more practice and sharp offense and defense.” Our Water Polo boys are in the second most competitive CIF division, will face many challenging teams; however, they are working tirelessly and are ready for each meet.  Come out and support the truly impressive Poly Boys Water Polo team.
