CHRISTMAS: A time for all of us to get together with our family and enjoy our lives together with presents and entertainment.

It is Christmas time coming around this corner getting close and some people might be planning early to get together for christmas. The main attraction for Christmas entertainment is movies for some families that get together.

One of many iconic Christmas movies is Home Alone directed by Chris Columbus. The movie showcases comedy and has a heartwarming plot. The protagonist, Kevin, is accidentally left by his family at home while they travel to France on vacation. He believes that his family has magically disappeared due to his christmas wish which is for them to go away. In reality, they realize that they have remembered that they forgot him at home on the airplane. At one of the layovers Kevin’s mother is able to take a bus but it would take several days to get back home. Meanwhile, there are two thieves targeting empty houses for the holidays. He spends a couple days alone while robbers, Harry and Marv, plan to steal from his house. He catches on and for the next few days comes up with several cometic ways to keep Harry and Marv away. One includes Kevin using a clip of a gangster movie named Angels With Filthy Souls, scarring them with the sound of gunshots and the character in the movie saying “”Keep the change, ya filthy animal.” In the end he is able to defeat them and his family makes it home to him.

Another classic is A Christmas Story  directed by Bob Clark. This was released in 1983 but still is one of the best Christmas movies. It is most iconic for the bunny pajamas that the protagonist, Ralphie, is gifted by one of his ants. It is also known for the leg lamp that the father won during a radio contest. He displays it at the front window of his house and receives much attention from it because of its uniqueness and strangeness. The best part of the movie is the narrator, who is the protagonist as an adult re telling his memories of christmas as a child. One of the most comedic scenes in the movie is when Ralphie is helping his dad fix a flat tire and he drops the screws. The Narrator says “Only I didn’t say ‘Fudge.’ I said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the “F-dash-dash-dash” word!”. Even though this movie was created 40 years ago it continues to have very little competitors.

A Christmas and family favorite for most people, Dr. Suess´ ¨How the Grinch Stole Christmas¨. This movie , inspired by the writing of Theodore Suess Geisel, directed by Ron Howard and starred by Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen, is one of the most popular Christmas movies out there. This movie is about the grumpy Grinch that hates Christmas and thinks that no one should be able to enjoy it like himself. He goes out at night and steals all of everyone’s Christmas related things like presents, gifts and more. His plans are hit by a speed bump, a girl Cindy Lou Who, who loves her christmas and befriends the grinch. Cindy Lou Who helped save Christmas by talking to the grinch and showing him the joy and love of Christmas, when he returns the gifts he is then praised for showing a part of him, the loving side, and his Christmas spirit.

These are all amazing Christmas movie classics that will never get old or be forgotten. All have an elaborate and heartwarming plot.
