Poly 8 Warren 7

The second-seeded Poly girls’ water polo team continued its run through the CIF-SS Division 5 playoffs with a victory over third-seeded Warren High School in the semi-finals yesterday. The team overcame late afternoon sun and a few controversial calls behind dominant play from a young starting lineup. Sisters Jacqueline Bywater (11) and Lauren  Bywater (9) as well as Keana Eldridge (11) had two goals apiece, while Shelby Barkley (11) and Paizlee Dreyer (12) each added one. The Lady Bears play in the Division 5 final on Saturday against Crescenta Valley at the Woollett Aquatic Center in Irvine to try and add to the three straight CIF titles won between 2008 and 2010. The game starts at 5 and admission is $8 for general admission or $5 for students with ids.
