RUSD Recognizing Outstanding Poly Seniors

SENIORS: Several Poly students are recognized for their outstanding academic achievements, involvement, scholarships received, and even the inspiration they provide. 

As senior season comes to an end, the Riverside Unified School District has hosted many events recognizing the class of 2023 for their accomplishments. 

Portrait of A Graduate 

Dalton Adcock 

Dalton was recognized for being an exceptional Poly bear in all aspects. The award was created to recognize those who lead their learning with critical thinking, perseverance, and reflective goal setting. These nominated students are engaged on campus and love to grow. Dalton is in orchestra, plays tennis, and has amazing grades. 

Most Inspirational

Darren McDevitt

Darren was recognized as most inspirational for being dedicated, showing perserverance, and inspiring others. He runs track and is in the special education classes. His tendencies to always smile and dance bring so much joy to campus.

Most Engaged 

Sydnee Salcedo 

Sydnee was recognized as most engaged for connecting to Poly, and being invested in learning. You can find her at a sporting event, club meeting, or supporting students in any way possible. She plays basketball, is active in Bear Pals, and is ASB president. When told she was receiving the award, Salcedo says she was “definitely surprised because she had only found out two days prior.”

Dell Scholarship  

Melanie Magana

Melanie received a scholarship to recognize those who have overcome adversity while pursuing their education. The award comes with $20,000, a laptop, textbooks, and emotional support and assistance. Melanie is the MECHA president and has been active on campus for four years. 

Perfect Attendance 

Amber Mazza

The award recognizes students who have had perfect attendance for their K-12 career. Amber has been involved on campus for her four years and worked hard to attend school each day.  

Riverside County Academic Award 

Kate Sullivan, Milo Ribaudo, Grace Carter 

These three students were recognized for their academic student achievements. All have been in difficult classes, overcome obstacles, and worked hard at Poly. Milo Ribaudo, one of the award recipients says they “all worked very hard to get to this point, and he feels so blessed to be supported by so many amazing people at Poly. Go bears!”

NJROTC Scholarship 

Aaron Escobedo

Aaron received a $180,000 scholarship from the Marine Corps. He has worked hard in the JROTC and looks forward to serving our country.
