PREPARING: As a new season begins, Poly’s winter sports are preparing to take on their new seasons.

By Sarah Salmeron, Staff Writer

With fall ending, many students at Poly are making the switch from fall to winter sports. In hopes of improving from previous years, Poly’s winter athletes are taking on many hours of practice in order to have a successful season.

Basketball has been one of Poly’s most successful teams in leading each other as far as they can. With determination and practice almost daily, Poly’s basketball team continues to work hard in hopes to have a better season than the last. Seniors take into consideration how they want their last season to be and how they want to leave the rest of the team for next year. The team has had intense practices leading up to their first game on December 9, kicking off their 2019-2020 season.

Alongside basketball, boy’s and girl’s soccer have been hard at work every day working to improve with new and returning teammates. Girl’s soccer is starting their new season undefeated in league for five years in a row and working hard to make it the sixth year, they started their season off on December 4. Boy’s soccer has been working hard towards D1 and is preparing for what the rest of their season will hold.

Wrestling began their season off on November 23. The team endures intense practice every day for approximately three hours preparing for their next meet on December 12.

Determination and passion have run Poly’s sports teams to where they currently stand and will continue to push the teams to better themselves every day. Long before their season even begun, these teams have worked hard every day in hopes of an amazing season.
