On February 28, 2026 a joint Israeli and American attack was launched on Iran, restarting the age long conflict and placing America one step closer to war.

America and Iran have a long history of manipulation and rising tensions as the former has long attempted to control the Iranian government and treat the nation as an imperialist colonial state to be harvested for its abundant oil deposits. Various American officials have instituted leaders, led coup d’etats, and ultimately restricted the rights and freedoms of the people of Iran to ensure economical gain for the United States under the guise of spreading the perfect American system to “lesser” countries. This tension over oil arose in the early 1900’s when the USA gained increased access to Europe during the World Wars and ended their isolationism. This unresolved strain between the two nations was bound to recur, but the timing of these events is not in the favor of America due to the revelation of incriminating evidence on President Trump; the recent exposure of Epstein Files information directly and undeniably links Trump to illegal and unethical action. Days later Israel launched large-scale US funded missile strikes on Iran. It seems that Trump is so worried about his dubious decisions in the past that the drastic nature of war is the only way he found possible to try and distract people from his deeds.

Trump defends his militaristic attacks by promising a short conflict where Iran will soon submit to the American-Israeli force. However, at this point the conflict has escalated beyond the borders of Iran. With the proven support Trump provides to Israel, they have gained the confidence and cover to increase their own imperialistic agenda. With increased abuse of Palestine and massive retaliatory responses toward Lebanon and other pro-Iran countries, this conflict is beyond a feud for oil. More than 1,500 Iranian people have been killed in this war-like situation, one of those being Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, and another 175 of those being children and workers of an elementary school. Bombing sites also include oil deposits, electrical plants, and homes; these are innocent people being targeted, and any chance of negotiation has been shut down through destruction of a stable government. This is not a war that will end quickly through surrender, as the aggressors are not wanting a treaty, but for the absolute destruction and oppression of Iran. No one is willingly oppressed, and thus violence and destruction from the increasing number of parties can only rise.

The situation has progressed far beyond likely even what Trump had planned, and various conflicting statements on the direction of military action have confirmed that notion. He does not stand for the will of the American people, and never did in his support of Israel. Not only have his actions been illegal, ignoring the legislature maintaining congressional approval for militaristic action, but both Democrats and members of his own Republican party have come to agreement to end the conflict. Both parties call out the unethical nature of the situation, and show increased disapproval of American tax dollars and resources being “stolen” to fund this war. The direction of the unofficial war becomes less clear on the daily. Beyond the American scope, Trump’s militaristic actions also violate UN resolutions, leaving America’s world relations strained. Tensions continue to escalate, and at this point it is safe to say that this joint attack may mark the beginning of an unpredictable large-scale war that America is quite simply unprepared for. Drawing the uncanny similarity to Vietnam, it seems American history will once again be stained with horror.
