John Tavaglione, a Riverside resident, is running for Congress. Tavaglione hopes to obtain the 41st congressional district seat.

As a fourth generation resident of Riverside County, Tavaglione has held many public positions in Riverside. He is a current chairman of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors, a member of the Riverside Transit Board of Directors, the President of the California State Association of Counties 2011 and a United States Army veteran.

Tavaglione has implemented much change in Riverside. He has helped to bring in tens of thousands of jobs and over one billion dollars in new investments to the Riverside County area. Tavaglione believes jobs and unemployment are the major problems affecting not only the Riverside area, but also the country. By highlighting regional incentives, Tavaglione hopes to “encourage businesses to set up manufacturing.”

Through the collaboration of Democrats and Republicans, Tavaglione strives to tackle unemployment issues on a congressional level. He hopes to expand the impact of his changes by encouraging other areas of the United States to adopt similar tactics.

“I believe we need to see balance—and strong balance—within our legislative offices in order to get things done,” he said. “That takes strong leadership and I’ve proven myself in that regard.”
