Nowadays it seems as though more and more people have their careers mapped out by the time they graduate. For the rest of us though, we still have some deciding to do as to how we will proceed with our lives, and that’s okay! According to collegedata.com the most common of all majors for incoming freshmen to college is “undeclared” which basically translates to “Oh my gosh, I have no clue what I want to study, how did I even get into college?” Thankfully, there are some great things you can be doing and narrow down what future is right for you. Take careful inventory of your skills, and more importantly, your passions. What do you love to study? What classes are you strongest in? Even if you don’t have a real passion for any particular subject you can still change your major at almost all universities- sometimes multiple times! Nothing is set in stone; with hundreds of majors available for study there are plenty of choices for you to research and pursue. Maybe you don’t want to go to college? Trade schools are an alternative for many who want to go into careers such as plumbing or auto-mechanics. Nobody expects you to have your life mapped out by senior year, so take your time and become whatever lights a fire for you.
