Boys’ Soccer Wrap-up 2013

Mar 26, 2013

This season, the Poly boys’ soccer team won the Inland Valley League title for the second straight year, had the third undefeated season in the entire program’s history, and was the champion of the Tom Tilson Classic.

The boys clinched the league title and an undefeated league season in their final league game against North High School. In this particular game, the Bears dominated with Mario Padilla (11), Robert Morales (12), Gabe Jacques (11) and Ulysses De La Cal (11) each scoring a goal. The final score was 4-1, leaving Poly as the only unbeaten team in all of the CIF-Southern Section Division 1.

The team finished league with a 9-0-3 record, earning it a position in the CIF playoffs. The boys’ first round draw was St. John Bosco High School, who they beat 4-2, which advanced them to round two of the playoffs. Unfortunately, the bears lost the second round to Santa Barbara High School by a single goal, marking the only loss in Poly’s entire season.
